Effect of oscillatory whole-body vibration versus neuromuscular exercise on static and dynamic balance in patients with knee osteoarthritis

Objective: This study aimed to compare the effect of Whole body vibration (WBV) versus neuromuscular exercise (NEMEX) prove which treatment produced significant on pain, knee function disability, static and dynamic postural stability in patients with osteoarthritis (KOA). Method: Forty-five (39 women 6 men) aged 45 62 years grade 2 KOA were randomly assigned into following three groups (all n = 15): group A (control group) received traditional only (US, stretching strengthening exercise); B NEMEX C WBV treatment. Outcome measures assessed pre post included pain severity using Arabic numerical rating scale (ANPRS), functional disability by Western Ontario McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis index, balance (close open eye) Unipedal Stance Test Biodex Balance System (BBS). Results: The within-group analysis showed changes severity, index (p < 0.05).
